June was one heckova month!

Whew it is too stinkin hot outside! It is close to 100 degrees on any given day lately. Not a fan of that at all! Ready for my favorite season, fall! But first we have some important birthdays to celebrate and a much needed mommy trip to NY!
The night after my last blog was published we had a wild storm with some harsh winds and lightening blasts. Well one of those nasty lightening blasts hit a little too close to home, literally! I was with G in her room because she was scared of the storm and just as I was dozing off, a huge boom sounded (if you lived here you know what I am talking about!) and I saw this flash of light in her room. My first thought was the window had shattered and the house was on fire! I was scared to death. Poor Destiny had a picture fall on her head. I looked around and random outlets didn't work, very strange. The girls and I crawled into bed with Luke and tried to sleep. It was a tough night. The next morning, after numerous electrical companies had been in and out of the house, we learned we were lucky the house didn't catch fire but also we were out quite a few appliances. We stuck it out the first night with no a/c and then decided we had no choice but to go to a hotel. Thankfully insurance covered all the fees and meals while we were there. It ended up being 4 nights and 5 days in the hotel. Honestly it was rather nice to have someone clean for me and cook meals, so I wasn't complaining:) Plus G and Acers loved the pool and the uh-hum bed jumping that ensued.
We spent 2 nights at home in a cool house and then packed up to head to Breckenridge. The drive there was a n.i.g.h.t.m.a.r.e! Ace hollered nearly 3/4 of the way, but alas we made it to Denver for the first night. We went swimming to blow off some steam and got ourselves into a whole other predicament. Luke was in the pool for a good 40 minutes when I decided to go back to the room with Ace and needed the key. He reached in his pocket and his iPhone was tucked very nicely in that pocket, in the pool:/ Not good on the ol iPhone. So he and Jeff spent a good 3 hours looking up iPhones on Denver Craigslist. Thankfully he found one so we went the next morning and got one. We met at a Starbucks and the kid rolled up on a skateboard! Luke said he was the nicest kid and had a lot of knowledge, so everything was very legit. Then off to Breckenridge. In one word, Beautiful! I completely loved it. The downtown was very quaint and authentic. We went to a fun park where they had alpine slides, cord jumping, a jump jump and all kinds of activities for kids. G loved the gold digging and slides. We also went to a outlet mall (Vicki, Ace and I enjoyed that:), mountain bike riding and exploring downtown. It was wonderful. After the screaming car ride there and the iPhone that took a dip, the trip was pretty relaxing and beautiful. For the record, the car ride home was great and only a few rounds of fits by the little blonde boy. We had screaming contests, ice down the shirt games (G loves this) and lots of Fresh Beat Band singing. Great memories were made on this trip.
Since being in the hotel and vacation, we still aren't on a normal schedule but I guess thats what the summer is for!

Ace-He has learned to ask "Why?" and it is very cute. He will repeat almost anything you ask him to, or anything he hears, so childlike words are a necessity right now!
G-She already has a keen sense of fashion at the tender age of 3. She tells me often that things I wear don't match. Little does this fashionista know that black and white can match anything!
Last but not least, in exactly one week I am going to New York with Maci to see Matt, B and Dash. I.can.not.wait.

       ---------Now onto photo overload-------------

This is how Ace enjoyed 1/8 of the bike ride. The other 7/8 of the ride was spent arguing with G:/

I know I know this is a post for the beans, but this was a request by the G bean:) Really!

Summer's here!

So they always say summer is a great time to slow down and relax...well not in the Aichele household! We have been just as busy, if not more, as the rest of the year. I don't mind, because I like to be busy and like my schedules. I also am LOVING that G is becoming more and more schedule oriented too. I always verbally tell myself what the plan is for the day, I don't know why, and now I catch her saying it too! Love!
This summer has been full of VBS fun, allergy diagnoses, trip planning, and lots of fun new words thanks to Ace.
This year the theme for VBS was Sky. Mom and I worked in the Sky Lounge, ( I think it was called) AKA kitchen, and made all the snacks. We had 2 other girls, Cathy and Andrea, and we made a fantastic group! G wasn't so keen on it the first day, actually her words were, "I am not going to go back Mom!". Well day 2 was different. She danced on stage and had fun! She also told me she learned, "No matter who you are, Trust God!" What a blessing this little gal is. Ace made some new friends in the nursery too. Well they were the workers and they were teenage girls, go figure! On Sunday at church they sang again and G did so awesome! She smiled and did the actions, very proud of my little G bean.
Ace had been having alot of coughing, nose running, all the crap that makes you think something big is a brewin', so we went in and found out that he has allergies. Weird,  I think because neither Luke or I have them. The Dr. also told me that fair people are more apt the have allergies and asthma problems, nice to know...
This summer is looking very fun as far as trips go. We are heading to Denver and Breckenridge next friday to see Luke's dad. He has never met either of the beans so it will be fun for him to meet the crazy kids. We are going with our neighbors, The Courtney's. We are getting a condo and have lots of fun outdoorsy type things planned!
Maci and I are heading to NY to see B, Matt and Noah in July. I.cannot.wait! It will be my first trip without either of the kids, so I am nervous for that, but know Luke will keep them in line. He's a good daddy:)
Now the fun words! Ace has a habit of repeating words or phrases whether they go with the conversation or not. Here are a few cute sayings: Vroom Vroom hot! (We taught him that Daddy's motorcycle is hot so to not touch it after he gets done riding) Bi-boo tkool (bible school), "I think no" (We have been telling G how we loved when she was littler and would say "What do you fink, no!!" so he has made up his own rendition), underpauppie (Under puppy, AKA, Underdog when swinging), Zsa Zsa and Elmo mama (his 2 favorite animals) Airplane wa-wa (The airplane inflatable that he gets in at the pool), and Em-ade (lemonade) his new favorite drink. He is so fun right now and picks up everything! You ask him to say something and he will repeat it, sometimes clear, other times he puts his own spin on the word:)
G was trying to think of the game, limbo, the other day and was explaining it and said "It's like mambo, bombo...no Rambo!" Love her!

Haha Destiny's face cracks me up!! Straight up hill-billy with her missing tooth!

At church performing her Sky song. I recorded it on my phone and she watches it all the time and dances with it, cute:)

Looking like Chelsea, circa 1991, pulling up the sides of my dress while performing. Darn nervous tics.

1st day of VBS, bar kind of morning. Yes B, Ace is still obsessed with his bars!

Makeup fun!

May shenanigans

Since time has gotten the best of me, I will do the bullet style post again!

*Ace likes to call Maci "Nene".
*G saw a picture of Pinnochio and called him "Okie Dokie O".
*Ate Cinco De Mayo dinner at the Country Club and Ace had his 1st golf cart ride, which is certainly not his last, he loved it!
*Went to Hutchinson Zoo with G's class one evening. The Zoo was more of a snake, spider exhibit with a dinosaur play area, but G enjoyed it. Just to sum it up, the trolley ride went around a wooded area with wooden statues of animals, not real ones:/
*Had our final MOPS meeting for the semester and I made some A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Maple cream rolls!
*Destiny lost her front tooth and looks very cute. I told G she looked like a jack-o-lantern so G tells her now she looks like a pumpkin patch. She tries:)
*Ace learned how to say "Auntie".
*G learned how to write the letters A-P! She is rocking at it! My goal for summer is to teach her how to write all letters, numbers 1-10 and tie her shoes! Almost got the 1st part done, sahwheet!
*G got a pedicure at Nana's by the best nail techs, Maci and I! She was a real diva though and expected her hands and feet rubbed at the same time, really G?? :)
*May Day 2012, the beans did great watching the parade. We went to the carnival afterwards for a short while and G rode the roller coaster with Amelia, the boats with both Ace and Amelia and did the slide with Daddy, and I rode with Ace. Fun times! Afterwards we went over the Brian Hopp's new sno cone shack and ate lunch with his family.
*Wichita for Fresh Beat Band with Whitney, Maci and Chloe! Sooo stinkin fun! I had a major desire to stand up and dance, but figured the little 4 year olds and their mothers behind us maybe a bit ticked. So I happily bounced in my seat. Loved spending all day with my G bean:)
*Met Ashley for coffee. So great to catch up with my BFF.
*Mother's Day 2012. Was the epitome of laziness the whole day and loved every second of it. We went to Mom and Dad's for a BBQ that evening. I made some smashing desserts from one of my favorite blogs, Dashing Dish. (The frappucino frozen pie and the Coconut cake that I turned into a trifle.)
*Luke's grandparents came through on their way home from visiting family in Texas. We ate dinner with them and then went to Luke's 1st softball game, they won! We love visiting with them.
*G had her last day of preschool. It was bittersweet. We spent the day doing things she loves: Picnic at the park, coffee shop treat and games and coloring with mommy. I ♥ G so much and the fact that she loves hanging in coffee shops makes her 10X cooler, if that's possible!
*While swinging G loves me to push her "high to the sky" and do "under puppies". Ace now says "under puppy mama". Fun kiddos we've got!
