Birthday and Valentines Fun!

I celebrated my 26th birthday on the 14th. I like to make a whole week celebration out of it, if possible. When there's a will, there's a way! We started out on Sunday by going to Red Lobster for dinner with the Sechler family. After a crazy dinner, we had 3 kids under the age of 4 with us, we came back to our house for dessert of Reeses' Pie and Cookies N Creme pie. Not gonna lie, both were eaten by me that night.  Monday was Gentry's Valentine party at school. Ace and I went to enjoy the celebration. We played a few games, sang songs and they enjoyed heart cookies. I love hanging out at the preschool with G. Tuesday morning I made Luke and the beans toast with a heart cutout and filled with egg. Probably not going to do that again, too much work! We went to MOPS that morning and made Apple Tarts for my Sweetheart. I love MOPS but this day was especially fun! We went to Hutch with Whitney and Chloe afterwards for lunch and a few errands. That evening, Luke really stepped it up and made dinner for us! Not a first, but probably one of the last:) He did a wonderful job, but I know those meals made by him are few and far between. Wednesday we went to Wichita after G got done at school. We ran a few errands and listened to Ace repeat, "Mama, Mama, Mama" then "Dada, Dada, Dada" all.the.way.home, Literally! I try to just remember to keep my cool, because when he is 15, I will have wished I enjoyed him saying that and all he really wants is me to just look at him and smile. Saturday night was Date night and I tell you what, I can't remember our last one, just the two of us! We went to Bella Luna, a Mediterranean restaurant. I got the falafel and Luke got a pasta dish. It was so good and the atmosphere is so relaxing. We both needed the R & R. We went to Green Acres to grab a few items since Dillons and Wal-Mart are lacking in the health food sections. Then we went to see Safe House. It is nice to get a little break for just Mommy and Daddy time, but honestly all we talk about are cute things the beans have said or done lately.
Lately Ace has been trying to talk alot more. He will try to say almost anything you ask him to. He says around 15-20 words, mainly 'Mama, Dada, Bar and tank do' (Thank you) and of course motions for "More" quite frequently. G has been showing more interest in wanting to write letters so we are going to start working on a few each day. She truly amazes me each day with all of her knowledge. We are completely blessed:)

Aichele shenanigans

Wow it has been 2 weeks since I blogged! I guess we are basking in the healthiness we are back to! Thankfully everyone is back to feeling good and being ornery;) Ace I am talking about you, little man! We have had a few fun things take place in the last few weeks. On Friday evening we took G to Disney LIVE in Wichita. It was a stocking gift from Santa. She dressed up like Snow White and looked prettier than any princess there. It was so fun to watch her face light up as different scenes took place. I love that little girl more than I will ever be able to express. Luke and I love doing things like this where it is all about her and we can spoil her for the evening. We took her out to dinner afterwards and she chose Jason's Deli so she could get the "pasta that Chloe got" and "ice cream too". I love that place so I was game. Luke played into the whole child-like evening and got himself some Mac N Cheese and I had this yummy Vegetable Soup! She was out within 10 minutes after we got on the road. Defintely a night to remember. The next evening Luke and I had a Murder Mystery dinner with The Martins and The Courtneys. It was a lot of unexpected fun. We weren't sure what to expect but it was a blast. Luke was a "too cool for school, always wanting to be working on his motorcycle-guy" named Buzz and I was Anu, a "pretty classy girl who was poor and hated by the popular girls". The best dressed had to go to Jeff who played a gothic punk guy! He was awesome! The food was mediocre, but the company was great!
On Monday G celebrated her half birthday at school with Dirt and Worm Cups. It was so fun to celebrate with her class. Luke came and surprised her. The kids loved eating the dirt. (Reminds me of when G was younger and I was teaching her to not pick her nose, because it is dirt. So one day while we were driving in the car, she announced, "Mom I am picking dirt". Maybe gross or TMI, but this is for my personal memories, so there it is!)
This past Friday, Luke left for a week for his yearly golfing trip to Lake Havasu. It is always hard to have him leave, but this time it has been especially tough on me. I give a lot of credit to single parents, because this is hard, especially with 2 wild hooligans!
Last night I had a Valentines Ball for our sorority at the Country Club. It was a Vegas theme and it was a lot of fun. I really like my sorority sisters, so it is always fun to spend an evening all dressed up and hanging out with them. Plus the food was delicious, especially the fresh blackberries!

Sickness be gone!

This week has been nothing short of a nightmare! It started with Ace having this nagging sickness that comes and goes, but is TOTALLY unwelcome! While we were at the Dr, she mentioned that we must be on the 3 week schedule, since we have been there every 3 weeks the last 9 weeks! What??? This is absurd! Somethings got give. So as we are fighting his crud, G starts in. She is never sick and I mean never! The child has literally had one bad bout of sickness in her whole 3.5 precious years of life. This time it really got the precious baby down. She missed school on Wednesday and we missed the Y all week. That really got us down. I say "Us" because she loves her friends there and Ace loves Megan, the girl that takes care of them. She is the best! I use that as my outlet, and I didn't get that this week. As a matter of fact, I had no outlet! We were stuck in the house all week. To catch a break, we got out and drove around because this mama was going stir crazy! Then Thursday morning Luke said he was going in to the Dr because of a nagging stomach pain that wouldn't go away. At first we thought it was appendicitis, but the cat scans came back showing something else. We spent Thursday evening in the ER trying to see what was going on. Gosh I hate being in that area, as it reminds me of the darn lung collapse I endured:/ We were there for around 2.5 hours, mostly waiting on Dr.'s and their thoughts on the this mystery. Friday morning he had to go into the hospital to do a cat scan with a barium drink test. He said it was the most disgusting chalky drink ever! G had to drink this when she was 3 months old and I remember forcing it down the poor babies throat. I am sure the picture of Luke choking it down was about the same as 3 month old G, maybe worse:/ Love him like crazy, but he is a little bit of a baby when it comes to illnesses. Ha! He knows I think this so it is okay to say:) After that and some blood tests, which he also hates, they came to the conclusion of calling this weird problem an infection in his small intestine. He is on antibiotic so we shall see if this clears it up. If not, God help us all!
Needless to say I am very ready to get back to our life on a schedule! I have also learned that health is something to never take for granted! Also this week I plan to find my sanity again, as last week it was thrown out the window. :)
At the Dr again, but at least he is happy!

The Sunday before the sickness went down! Beauty and The Beast 3D. I wore my glasses so I had to place the 3D ones over the top...very weird feeling.

Explains how we were feeling that day, a little wonky

Had to pay a few bills so G brought her throw up bowl, gross I know but not as bad as having puke all over the van!

After! Beautiful!

Kids say the darndest things!

This post is dedicated to the silly, off the wall things my beans say:)
The other day as we were leaving the Y, G looked out the car window and looked at Jenny, the homeless girl, and declared, "Hey mom Jenny got some new shiny running shoes!"....They were rather shiny looking:)
There has been some news of this man creeping around our neighborhood and since I told the story to a few people, G has overheard some of it. She said "Why don't that guy just go back home?!?" I agree G, he should just go home.
We were walking through Wal-mart the other day and my shoes were making a weird squeak noise. Since G wasn't aware of where it came from, she said, rather loudly, "Mom you sure do have a lot of gas today!" I quickly corrected her and said "Actually it is my shoes, see" and quickly showed her the noise.  The man walking by us just smirked as he passed us.
Ace is still learning to talk, but the things he says are super sweet. He recently learned how to say "Baby" from no other than Justin Bieber. How may you ask, well since we listen to the Bieberster in the car, ALL THE TIME, he hears it a lot and just started saying "Bee Bee".  When they are playing in Elmo's Kitchen, he stand behind the counter and very excitedly says, "Hiyeeee". He always smiles so big after he says it. Very cute:)
This past week Luke has been gone in Las Vegas with some buddies, so I have had been playing Mom and Dad! It has gone very well, but we are happy to have Daddy back.
Here are some pictures that I missed last time, so it is picture overload!!
Celebrating with Jesus' birthday cake! G blew out the candle and asked "Why isn't Jesus going to come eat any of his birthday cake?"
